2009-09-10KVM: Rename x86_emulate.c to emulate.cAvi Kivity
We're in arch/x86, what could we possibly be emulating? Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com>
2009-09-10KVM: remove old KVMTRACE support codeMarcelo Tosatti
Return EOPNOTSUPP for KVM_TRACE_ENABLE/PAUSE/DISABLE ioctls. Signed-off-by: Marcelo Tosatti <mtosatti@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com>
2009-09-10KVM: convert custom marker based tracing to event tracesMarcelo Tosatti
This allows use of the powerful ftrace infrastructure. See Documentation/trace/ for usage information. [avi, stephen: various build fixes] [sheng: fix control register breakage] Signed-off-by: Marcelo Tosatti <mtosatti@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Sheng Yang <sheng@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com>
2009-09-10KVM: irqfdGregory Haskins
KVM provides a complete virtual system environment for guests, including support for injecting interrupts modeled after the real exception/interrupt facilities present on the native platform (such as the IDT on x86). Virtual interrupts can come from a variety of sources (emulated devices, pass-through devices, etc) but all must be injected to the guest via the KVM infrastructure. This patch adds a new mechanism to inject a specific interrupt to a guest using a decoupled eventfd mechnanism: Any legal signal on the irqfd (using eventfd semantics from either userspace or kernel) will translate into an injected interrupt in the guest at the next available interrupt window. 2009-09-10KVM: cleanup arch/x86/kvm/MakefileChristoph Hellwig
Use proper foo-y style list additions to cleanup all the conditionals, move module selection after compound object selection and remove the superflous comment. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com>
2009-06-10KVM: unify part of generic timer handlingMarcelo Tosatti
Hide the internals of vcpu awakening / injection from the in-kernel emulated timers. This makes future changes in this logic easier and decreases the distance to more generic timer handling. Signed-off-by: Marcelo Tosatti <mtosatti@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com>
2009-01-03KVM: change KVM to use IOMMU APIJoerg Roedel
Signed-off-by: Joerg Roedel <joerg.roedel@amd.com>
2009-01-03KVM: rename vtd.c to iommu.cJoerg Roedel
Impact: file renamed The code in the vtd.c file can be reused for other IOMMUs as well. So rename it to make it clear that it handle more than VT-d. Signed-off-by: Joerg Roedel <joerg.roedel@amd.com>
2008-10-15KVM: Separate irq ack notification out of arch/x86/kvm/irq.cXiantao Zhang
Moving irq ack notification logic as common, and make it shared with ia64 side. Signed-off-by: Xiantao Zhang <xiantao.zhang@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@qumranet.com>
2008-10-15KVM: Device Assignment: Move vtd.c from arch/x86/kvm/ to virt/kvm/Zhang xiantao
Preparation for kvm/ia64 VT-d support. Signed-off-by: Zhang xiantao <xiantao.zhang@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@qumranet.com>
2008-10-15KVM: Device Assignment with VT-dBen-Ami Yassour
Based on a patch by: Kay, Allen M <allen.m.kay@intel.com> This patch enables PCI device assignment based on VT-d support. When a device is assigned to the guest, the guest memory is pinned and the mapping is updated in the VT-d IOMMU. [Amit: Expose KVM_CAP_IOMMU so we can check if an IOMMU is present and also control enable/disable from userspace] Signed-off-by: Kay, Allen M <allen.m.kay@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Weidong Han <weidong.han@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ben-Ami Yassour <benami@il.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Amit Shah <amit.shah@qumranet.com> Acked-by: Mark Gross <mgross@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@qumranet.com>
2008-07-20KVM: Add coalesced MMIO support (x86 part)Laurent Vivier
This patch enables coalesced MMIO for x86 architecture. It defines KVM_MMIO_PAGE_OFFSET and KVM_CAP_COALESCED_MMIO. It enables the compilation of coalesced_mmio.c. Signed-off-by: Laurent Vivier <Laurent.Vivier@bull.net> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@qumranet.com>
2008-04-27KVM: Add kvm trace userspace interfaceFeng(Eric) Liu
This interface allows user a space application to read the trace of kvm related events through relayfs. Signed-off-by: Feng (Eric) Liu <eric.e.liu@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@qumranet.com>
2008-04-27KVM: In kernel PIT modelSheng Yang
The patch moves the PIT model from userspace to kernel, and increases the timer accuracy greatly. [marcelo: make last_injected_time per-guest] Signed-off-by: Sheng Yang <sheng.yang@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Marcelo Tosatti <mtosatti@redhat.com> Tested-and-Acked-by: Alex Davis <alex14641@yahoo.com> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@qumranet.com>
2008-01-30KVM: Move ioapic code to common directory.Zhang Xiantao
Move ioapic code to common, since IA64 also needs it. Signed-off-by: Zhang Xiantao <xiantao.zhang@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@qumranet.com>
2008-01-30KVM: Move drivers/kvm/* to virt/kvm/Avi Kivity
Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@qumranet.com>
2008-01-30KVM: Move arch dependent files to new directory arch/x86/kvm/Avi Kivity
This paves the way for multiple architecture support. Note that while ioapic.c could potentially be shared with ia64, it is also moved. Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@qumranet.com>
