2008-11-24Input: replace spin_lock_bh with spin_lock_irqsave in ml_ff_playbackArjan van de Ven
ml_ff_playback() uses spin_(un)lock_bh. However this function is called with interrupts disabled from erase_effect() in drivers/input/ff-core.c:196. This is not permitted, and will result in a WARN_ON in the bottom half handling code. This patch changes this function to just use spin_lock_irqsave() instead, solving the problem and simplifying the locking logic. This was reported as entry #106559 in kerneloops.org Reported-by: kerneloops.org Signed-off-by: Arjan van de Ven <arjan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru>

2008-11-11Input: psmouse - fix incorrect validate_byte check in OLPC protocolAndres Salomon
The validate_byte check logic was backwards; it should return true for an *invalid* packet. Thanks to Jeremy Katz for spotting this one. Signed-off-by: Andres Salomon <dilinger@debian.org> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru>
2008-11-11Input: atkbd - cancel delayed work before freeing its structureJiri Pirko
Pointed out by Oleg Nesterov. Since delayed work is used here, use of flush_scheduled_work() is not sufficient in atkbd_disconnect(). It does not wait for scheduled delayed work to finish. This patch prevents delayed work to be processed after freeing atkbd structure (used struct delayed_work is part of atkbd) by cancelling this delayed work. 2008-11-11Input: atkbd - add keymap quirk for Inventec Symphony systemsMatthew Garrett
The Zepto 6615WD laptop (rebranded Inventec Symphony system) needs a key release quirk for its volume keys to work. The attached patch adds the quirk to the atkbd driver. Dell XPS M1530 needs i8042.nomux=1 for ALPS touchpad to work as reported on https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=43532 It is said that before A08 bios version this isn't needed (I don't have the hardware so can't check), and suppose this will not break with bios versions before A08. This is version 5 of the driver. Relative mode support has been dropped (users wishing to use touchpad in relative mode can use standard PS/2 protocol emulation done in hardware). The driver supports both original version of Elantech protocol and the newer one used by touchpads installed in EeePC. 2008-10-09Input: ads7846 - fix cache line sharing issueDmitry Torokhov
We had a report a while back that the ads7846 driver had some issues when used with DMA-based SPI controllers (like atmel_spi) on systems where main memory is not DMA-coherent (most non-x86 boards). Allocate memory potentially used for DMA separately to avoid cache line issues. Reported-by: David Brownell <dbrownell@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru>

2008-09-21Input: psmouse - add OLPC touchpad driverAndres Salomon
This adds support for OLPC's touchpad. It has lots of neat features, none of which are enabled because the hardware is too buggy. Instead, we use it like a normal touchpad, but with a number of workarounds in place to deal with the frequent hardware spasms. Humidity changes, sweat, tinfoil underwear, plugging in AC, drinks, evil felines.. All tend to cause the touchpad to freak out. 2008-09-21Input: psmouse - tweak PSMOUSE_DEFINE_ATTR to support raw set callbacksAndres Salomon
We want to support attr->set callbacks that may need psmouse->state to not be updated, or may want to manually deal w/ enabling and disabling the device. To do that, we create __PSMOUSE_DEFINE_ATTR which enables us to set a 'protect' argument specifying whether or not the set callback should be protected with psmouse_disable and state setting. Signed-off-by: Andres Salomon <dilinger@debian.org> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru>
2008-09-21Input: psmouse - add psmouse_queue_work() for ps/2 extension to make use ofAndres Salomon
psmouse_queue_work is passed a delayed_work struct, and queues up the work with kpsmouse_wq. Since we're dealing with delayed_work stuff, this also switches resync_work to a delayed_work struct as well, and makes use of psmouse_queue_work when doing a resync within psmouse-base. 2008-09-16Input: bcm5974 - switch back to normal mode when closingHenrik Rydberg
Staying in multi-touch mode after closing the device sometimes makes the keyboard drop keys or repeat keys irratically. The conjecture is that some internal buffer starts to overflow, resulting in undefined behavior. Switching back to normal mode when closing the device makes the problem go away. 2008-09-10Input: ads7846 - introduce .gpio_pendown to get pendown stateEric Miao
The GPIO connected to ADS7846 nPENIRQ signal is usually used to get the pendown state as well. Introduce a .gpio_pendown, and use this to decide the pendown state if .get_pendown_state is NULL. Signed-off-by: Eric Miao <eric.miao@marvell.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru>

serio_raw only binds to non-translated devices. Enable serio_raw to bind to normal (translated) keyboards which can have non-standard extensions (like POS Keyboards). With this it is possible to send commands to the device over /dev/serio_raw<n>. Signed-off-by: Niels de Vos <niels.devos@wincor-nixdorf.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru>

2008-09-10Input: atkbd - expand Latitude's force release quirk to other DellsMatthew Garrett
Dell laptops fail to send key up events for several of their special keys. There's an existing quirk in the kernel to handle this, but it's limited to the Latitude range. This patch extends it to cover all portable Dells. Signed-off-by: Matthew Garrett <mjg@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru>

2008-09-04Input: i8042 - make Lenovo 3000 N100 blacklist entry more specificJiri Kosina
Apparently, there are more different versions of Lenovo 3000 N100, some of them working properly with active mux, and some of them requiring it being switched off. This patch applies 'nomux' only to the specific product name that is reported to behave badly unless 'nomux' is specified. 2008-09-04Input: bcm5974 - add BTN_TOUCH event for mousedev benefitHenrik Rydberg
The mousedev driver requires the use of BTN_TOUCH events to process ABS_X and ABS_Y events properly, which is what is needed for the bcm5974-based apple computers to have a functional pointer out-of-the-box. Signed-off-by: Henrik Rydberg <rydberg@euromail.se> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@mail.ru>
2008-09-04Input: bcm5974 - improve finger tracking and countingHenrik Rydberg
The problem of finger tracking, i.e., when to switch focus from one finger to another on the trackpad, has been improved by utilizing more information from the bcm5974 chip output. This results in less pointer hopping when many fingers are on the trackpad. In addition, a finger counting method based on pressure information from all fingers is introduced. Together with a pressure hysteresis window, this yields a more stable counting of the number of fingers on the trackpad.
