2009-12-11kgdb: Replace strstr() by strchr() for single-character needlesGeert Uytterhoeven
Some versions of gcc replace calls to strstr() with single-character "needle" string parameters by calls to strchr() behind our back. This causes linking errors if strchr() is defined as an inline function in <asm/string.h> (e.g. on m68k, which BTW doesn't have kgdb support). Prevent this by explicitly calling strchr() instead. 2009-12-10[SCSI] enclosure: fix oops while iterating enclosure_status arrayJames Bottomley
Based on patch originally by Jeff Mahoney <jeffm@suse.com> enclosure_status is expected to be a NULL terminated array of strings but isn't actually NULL terminated. When writing an invalid value to /sys/class/enclosure/.../.../status, it goes off the end of the array and Oopses. Fix by making the assumption true and adding NULL at the end. Problems ranged from lack of proper range checking, to removing the last character written (which admittedly is usually '\n'), to not accepting hex numbers even though the 'show' routine would show the data in that format. This patch fixes handling of uv hub irq affinity. IRQs with ALL or NODE affinity can be routed to cpus other than their originally assigned cpu. Those with CPU affinity cannot be rerouted. 2009-10-04max6875: Discard obsolete detect methodJean Delvare
There is no point in implementing a detect callback for the MAX6875, as this device can't be detected. It was there solely to handle "force" module parameters to instantiate devices, but now we have a better sysfs interface that can do the same. So we can get rid of the ugly module parameters and the detect callback. This basically divides the binary module size by 2. Right at the moment, hot removal of a device within an enclosure does nothing (because the intf_remove only copes with enclosure removal not with component removal). Fix this by adding a function to remove the component. In a situation either with expanders or with multiple enclosure devices, hot add doesn't always work. This is because we try to find a single enclosure device attached to the host. Fix this by looping over all enclosure devices attached to the host and also by making the find loop recognise that the enclosure devices may be expander remote (i.e. not parented by the host).
