2005-08-29[NET]: Kill skb->listDavid S. Miller
Remove the "list" member of struct sk_buff, as it is entirely redundant. All SKB list removal callers know which list the SKB is on, so storing this in sk_buff does nothing other than taking up some space. Two tricky bits were SCTP, which I took care of, and two ATM drivers which Francois Romieu <romieu@fr.zoreil.com> fixed up. Signed-off-by: David S. 2005-07-05[SHAPER]: Switch to spinlocks.Christoph Hellwig
Dave, you were right and the sleeping locks in shaper were broken. Markus Kanet noticed this and also tested the patch below that switches locking to spinlocks. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2005-06-02[NET]: Fix locking in shaper driver.Christoph Hellwig
o use a semaphore instead of an opencoded and racy lock o move locking out of shaper_kick and into the callers - most just released the lock before calling shaper_kick o remove in_interrupt() tests. from ->close we can always block, from ->hard_start_xmit and timer context never Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
