2009-01-29ucc_geth: Change uec phy id to the same format as gianfar'sHaiying Wang
The commit b31a1d8b41513b96e9c7ec2f68c5734cef0b26a4 ("gianfar: Convert gianfar to an of_platform_driver") changes the gianfar's phy id to the format like "mdio@xxxx:xx", but uec still uses the old format like "xxxxxxxx:xx". For the board whose UEC uses gianfar-mdio like MPC8568MDS, the phy can not be attached because of the incompatible phy id format. This patch changes uec's phy id to the same format as gianfar's. 2008-10-08phylib: move to dynamic allocation of struct mii_busLennert Buytenhek
This patch introduces mdiobus_alloc() and mdiobus_free(), and makes all mdio bus drivers use these functions to allocate their struct mii_bus'es dynamically. 2008-10-08phylib: rename mii_bus::dev to mii_bus::parentLennert Buytenhek
In preparation of giving mii_bus objects a device tree presence of their own, rename struct mii_bus's ->dev argument to ->parent, since having a 'struct device *dev' that points to our parent device conflicts with introducing a 'struct device dev' representing our own device. 2008-05-06ucc_geth: Fix a bunch of sparse warningsAndy Fleming
ucc_geth didn't have anything marked as __iomem. It was also inconsistent with its use of in/out accessors (using them sometimes, not using them other times). Cleaning this up cuts the warnings down from hundreds to just over a dozen. Signed-off-by: Andy Fleming <afleming@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@redhat.com>

2008-04-17[POWERPC] QE: UCC nodes cleanupAnton Vorontsov
- get rid of `model = "UCC"' in the ucc nodes It isn't used anywhere, so remove it. If we'll ever need something like this, we'll use compatible property instead. - replace last occurrences of device-id with cell-index. Drivers are modified for backward compatibility's sake. 2008-04-16phy: Change mii_bus id field to a stringAndy Fleming
Having the id field be an int was making more complex bus topologies excessively difficult. For now, just convert it to a string, and change all instances of "bus->id = val" to snprintf(id, MII_BUS_ID_LEN, "%x", val). 2008-02-06Fix PHY Lib support for gianfar and ucc_gethAndy Fleming
The PHY Lib now uses mutexes instead of spin_locks. ucc_geth and gianfar both grab the locks in their mdio_reset functions, so they need to use mutex_(un)lock instead. This was not caught until someone tested it on an SMP system. Signed-off-by: Andy Fleming <afleming@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jeff@garzik.org>
2008-01-28ucc_geth: get rid of device_type for mdioAnton Vorontsov
device_type property is bogus, thus use proper compatible. Also change compatible property to "fsl,ucc-mdio". Signed-off-by: Anton Vorontsov <avorontsov@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2007-09-13ucc_geth: kill unused includeKumar Gala
The ucc_geth_mii code is based on the gianfar_mii code that use to include ocp.h. ucc never need this and it causes issues when we want to kill arch/ppc includes from arch/powerpc. Signed-off-by: Kumar Gala <galak@kernel.crashing.org>
2007-08-03ucc_geth: fix section mismatchDomen Puncer
This fix section mismatch: reference to .exit.text:uec_mdio_exit (between 'ucc_geth_init' and 'uec_mdio_init') void __exit uec_mdio_exit(void) is called from - static int __init ucc_geth_init(void) - static void __exit ucc_geth_exit(void) First one would make error path more than just an error. 2007-05-15ucc_geth: eliminate max-speed, change interface-type to phy-connection-typeKim Phillips
It was agreed that phy-connection-type was a better name for the interface-type property, so this patch renames it. Also, the max-speed property name was determined too generic, and is therefore eliminated in favour of phy-connection-type derivation logic. includes corrections to copyright text. 2007-04-28ucc_geth: migrate ucc_geth to phylibKim Phillips
migrate ucc_geth to use the common phylib code. There are several side effects from doing this: o deprecate 'interface' property specification present in some old device tree source files in favour of a split 'max-speed' and 'interface-type' description to appropriately match definitions in include/linux/phy.h. Note that 'interface' property is still honoured if max-speed or interface-type are not present (backward compatible). o compile-time CONFIG_UGETH_HAS_GIGA is eliminated in favour of probe time speed derivation logic. o adjust_link streamlined to only operate on maccfg2 and upsmr.r10m, instead of reapplying static initial values related to the interface-type. o Addition of UEC MDIO of_platform driver requires platform code add 'mdio' type to id list prior to calling of_platform_bus_probe (separate patch). o ucc_struct_init introduced to reduce ucc_geth_startup complexity.
