2010-02-08libertas: don't retry commandsHolger Schurig
Retrying commands seldomly works, most often the firmware is in a weird state anyway and needs the device to reset. So it's better to report the broken state back to user-space. Also rename command_timer_fn() into lbs_cmd_timeout_handler(), which better reflect it's usage. Signed-off-by: Holger Schurig <holgerschurig@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: John W. 2010-01-19libertas: Set/clear WPA keys before the WEP onesSamuel Ortiz
With the v10 firmware running on 8688 HW, clearing WPA keys after setting the WEP key prevents us from being able to associate with WEP APs. Swapping the calling order for assoc_helper_wpa_keys() and assoc_helper_wep_keys fixes that issue. Signed-off-by: Samuel Ortiz <sameo@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: John W. 2009-12-21Libertas: fix buffer overflow in lbs_get_essid()Daniel Mack
The libertas driver copies the SSID buffer back to the wireless core and appends a trailing NULL character for termination. This is a) unnecessary because the buffer is allocated with kzalloc and is hence already NULLed when this function is called, and b) for priv->curbssparams.ssid_len == 32, it writes back one byte too much which causes memory corruptions. Fix this by removing the extra write. 2009-11-28pcmcia: rework the irq_req_t typedefDominik Brodowski
Most of the irq_req_t typedef'd struct can be re-worked quite easily: (1) IRQInfo2 was unused in any case, so drop it. (2) IRQInfo1 was used write-only, so drop it. (3) Instance (private data to be passed to the IRQ handler): Most PCMCIA drivers using pcmcia_request_irq() to actually register an IRQ handler set the "dev_id" to the same pointer as the "priv" pointer in struct pcmcia_device. Modify the two exceptions (ipwireless, ibmtr_cs) to also work this waym and set the IRQ handler's "dev_id" to p_dev->priv unconditionally. (4) Handler is to be of type irq_handler_t. (5) Handler != NULL already tells whether an IRQ handler is present. Therefore, we do not need the IRQ_HANDLER_PRESENT flag in irq_req_t.Attributes. 2009-11-02libertas: remove internal buffers from GSPI driverAndrey Yurovsky
This patch removes the internal command and data buffers that the GSPI driver maintained and instead relies on the Libertas core to synchronize access to the command and data ports as with the other interface drivers. This cleanup reduces the GSPI driver's memory footprint and should improve performance by removing the need to copy to these internal buffers. This also simplifies the bottom half of the interrupt handler. This is an incremental cleanup: after removing the redundant buffers, we can further improve the driver to use a threaded IRQ handler instead of maintaining its own thread. However I would like a few folks to test the buffer removal first and make sure that I'm not introducing regressions. Tested on Blackfin BF527 with DMA disabled due to an issue with the SPI host controller driver in the current bleeding-edge Blackfin kernel. I would appreciate it if someone with working DMA could test this patch and provide feedback. 2009-10-30libertas if_usb: Fix crash on 64-bit machinesDavid Woodhouse
On a 64-bit kernel, skb->tail is an offset, not a pointer. The libertas usb driver passes it to usb_fill_bulk_urb() anyway, causing interesting crashes. Fix that by using skb->data instead. This highlights a problem with usb_fill_bulk_urb(). It doesn't notice when dma_map_single() fails and return the error to its caller as it should. In fact it _can't_ currently return the error, since it returns void. So this problem was showing up only at unmap time, after we'd already suffered memory corruption by doing DMA to a bogus address.
