Machines that do not route the USB vbus signal to a GPIO can use this
mechanism as an alternate way for the udc driver to detect the usb
connect/disconnect state, which is useful (for example) to enable the
link up/down state to be determined for the g_ether gadget.

The g_ether USB gadget driver currently decides whether or not there's a
link to report back for eth_get_link based on if the USB link speed is
set. The USB gadget speed is however often set even before the device is
enumerated. It seems more sensible to only report a "link" if we're
actually connected to a host that wants to talk to us. The patch below
does this for me - tested with the PXA27x UDC driver.

Call unbind() hook of the gadget so that it can properly release its
resources. This fixes bug http://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/2240
("removing/reloading g_ether not working"). All other instances of
usb_gadget_unregister_driver in Linux already call unbind() so it is
bit odd s3c2410_udc.c did not do so.

This patch fixes the issues of RNDIS on the Openmoko Freerunner (and
subsequently Windows networking with the Freerunner). It arises from the
case where a stall is being issued by the upper level RNDIS driver to
the s3c2410_udc.c in the 2.6.28 series driver and it not being handled
correctly. This patch changes the RNDIS driver to send zero-length
packets instead of a stall, a condition that allowed the udc driver to
function correctly in 2.6.24 series kernels.
Further investigation into the udc driver is recommended. I am currently
looking into it to be able to use the Android ADB gadget driver, which
currently has stability issues using the underlying udc on both Linux
and Windows (although, it's possible that the Android ADB gadget has
problems).
Traces and logs of the USB traffic are available upon request. Thanks to
Aric at SDG Systems for all of his work on this matter.

Brian Code

ohci_s3c2410: Implement PM resume functionality
It was observed that that s3c2410_hc's root hub was not autoresumed when the
system was suspended with the root hub itself autosuspended.
As an effect of this, it was observed that the bluetooth module wouldn't get
detected at the hc's roothub ports when powered up after resume. And when
'lsusb' was executed, the roothub got out of autosuspend by force with a
'roothub lost power, resetting' message.
This patch brings the hcd roothub out of resume at global resume thereby
avoiding the issue.

USB: gadget rndis: send notifications
It turns out that atomic_inc_return() returns the *new* value
not the original one, so the logic in rndis_response_available()
kept the first RNDIS response notification from getting out.
This prevented interoperation with MS-Windows (but not Linux).
Fix this to make RNDIS behave again.

This is a patch that seems to make the USB hangs on the S3C2440 go away. At
least a good amount of ping torture didn't make them come back so far.
The issue is that, if there are several back-to-back packets,
sometimes no interrupt is generated for one of them. This
seems to be caused by the mysterious dual packet mode, which
the USB hardware enters automatically if the endpoint size is
half that of the FIFO. (On the 2440, this is the normal
situation for bulk data endpoints.)
There is also a timing factor in this. I think what happens is
that the USB hardware automatically sends an acknowledgement
if there is only one packet in the FIFO (the FIFO has space
for two). If another packet arrives before the host has
retrieved and acknowledged the previous one, no interrupt is
generated for that second one.
However, there may be an indication. There is one undocumented
bit (none of the 244x manuals document it), OUT_CRS1_REG[1],
that seems to be set suspiciously often when this condition
occurs. There is also CLR_DATA_TOGGLE, OUT_CRS1_REG[7], which
may have a function related to this. (The Samsung manual is
rather terse on that, as usual.)
This needs to be examined further. For now, the patch seems to do the
trick.
Note that this is not a clean solution by any means, because we
might potentially get stuck in that interrupt for quite a while.

As it is, all instances of ->release() for files that have ->fasync()
need to remember to evict file from fasync lists; forgetting that
creates a hole and we actually have a bunch that *does* forget.
So let's keep our lives simple - let __fput() check FASYNC in
file->f_flags and call ->fasync() there if it's been set. And lose that
crap in ->release() instances - leaving it there is still valid, but we
don't have to bother anymore.

This patch (as1153) fixes a potential problem in hub initialization.
Starting in 2.6.28, initialization was split into several tasks to
help speed up booting. This opens the possibility that the hub may be
autosuspended before all the initialization tasks can complete.
Normally that wouldn't matter, but with incomplete initialization
there is a risk that the hub would never autoresume -- especially if
devices were plugged into the hub beforehand. The solution is a
simple one-line change to suppress autosuspend until the
initialization is finished.

This patch (as1151) protects usbcore against drivers that try to
unlink an URB after the URB's device or bus have been removed. The
core does not currently check for this, and certain drivers can cause
a crash if they are running while an HCD is unloaded.
Certainly it would be best to fix the guilty drivers. But a little
defensive programming doesn't hurt, especially since it appears that
quite a few drivers need to be fixed.
The patch prevents the problem by grabbing a reference to the device
while an unlink is in progress and using a new spinlock to synchronize
unlinks with device removal. (There's no need to acquire a reference
to the bus as well, since the device structure itself keeps a
reference to the bus.) In addition, the kerneldoc is updated to
indicate that URBs should not be unlinked after the disconnect method
returns.

This patch (as1152) may help prevent some problems associated with the
new policy of unbinding drivers that don't support suspend/resume or
pre_reset/post_reset. If for any reason the resume or reset fails, and
the device is logically disconnected, there's no point in trying to
rebind the driver. So the patch checks for success before carrying
out the unbind/rebind.
There was a report from one user that this fixed a problem he was
experiencing, but the details never became fully clear. In any case,
adding these tests can't hurt.

In this patch, we want to do one thing: add more Huawei product IDs into the
USB driver. Then it can support more Huawei data card devices. So to declare
the unusual device for new Huawei data card devices in unusual_devs.h and to
declare more new product IDs in option.c.
To modify the data value and length in the function of
usb_stor_huawei_e220_init in initializers.c That's because based on the USB
standard, while sending SET_FETURE_D to the device, it requires the
corresponding data to be zero, and its sending length also must be zero. In
our old solution, it can be compatible with our WCDMA data card devices, but
can not support our CDMA data card devices. But in this new solution, it can
be compatible with all of our data card devices.
