2006-11-30[ARM] Remove "translated" io macrosRussell King
The "translated" io macros were never really used. Remove them. Preserve the L7200 inb() and friends by defining the __io() macro, so that the generic versions can be used instead. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-11-30[ARM] L7200: Remove deprecated __io_pci and __arch_(get|put)*Russell King
These functions have been deprecated for quite some time, and in fact are no longer used. They just add to clutter. Remove them. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-10-06Initial blind fixup for arm for irq changesLinus Torvalds
Untested, but this should fix up the bulk of the totally mechanical issues, and should make the actual detail fixing easier. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>
2006-09-29[PATCH] simplify update_times (avoid jiffies/jiffies_64 aliasing problem)Atsushi Nemoto
Pass ticks to do_timer() and update_times(), and adjust x86_64 and s390 timer interrupt handler with this change. Currently update_times() calculates ticks by "jiffies - wall_jiffies", but callers of do_timer() should know how many ticks to update. Passing ticks get rid of this redundant calculation. Also there are another redundancy pointed out by Martin Schwidefsky. This cleanup make a barrier added by 5aee405c662ca644980c184774277fc6d0769a84 needless. So this patch removes it. As a bonus, this cleanup make wall_jiffies can be removed easily, since now wall_jiffies is always synced with jiffies. (This patch does not really remove wall_jiffies. It would be another cleanup patch) Signed-off-by: Atsushi Nemoto <anemo@mba.ocn.ne.jp> Cc: Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com> Cc: "Eric W. 2006-09-20[ARM] 3759/2: Remove uses of %?Daniel Jacobowitz
Patch from Daniel Jacobowitz The ARM kernel has several uses of asm("foo%?"). %? is a GCC internal modifier used to output conditional execution predicates. However, no version of GCC supports conditionalizing asm statements. GCC 4.2 will correctly expand %? to the empty string in user asms. Earlier versions may reuse the condition from the previous instruction. In 'if (foo) asm ("bar%?");' this is somewhat likely to be right... but not reliable. So, the only safe thing to do is to remove the uses of %?. I believe the tlbflush.h occurances were supposed to be removed before, based on the comment about %? not working at the top of that file. Old versions of GCC could omit branches around user asms if the asm didn't mark the condition codes as clobbered. This problem hasn't been seen on any recent (3.x or 4.x) GCC, but it could theoretically happen. So, where %? was removed a cc clobber was added. 2006-06-24[ARM] 3631/1: Remove legacy __mem_isa() definitionsAndrew Victor
Patch from Andrew Victor Remove the remaining legacy __mem_isa() definitions for the ARM platforms. Signed-off-by: Andrew Victor <andrew@sanpeople.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-06-05[SERIAL] typo: buad -> baudHorst Schirmeier
Replacing mistyped "buad" with "baud" where applicable. Signed-off-by: Horst Schirmeier <horst@schirmeier.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-04-07[ARM] Move FLUSH_BASE macros to asm/arch/memory.hRussell King
FLUSH_BASE must be visible to arch/arm/mm/init.c in order for the memory region to be setup. Move these definitions from asm-arm/arch-*/hardware.h into asm-arm/arch-*/memory.h where mm stuff can see them. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-03-28[ARM] Fix decompressor serial IO to give CRLF not LFCRRussell King
As per the corresponding change to the serial drivers, arrange for ARM decompressors to give CRLF. Move the common putstr code into misc.c such that machines only need to supply "putc" and "flush" functions. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-03-21[ARM] Move HZ definition into KconfigRussell King
Move the HZ definition into Kconfig, and set appropriate defaults for platforms. Remove mostly empty asm/arch/param.h include file. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-01-04[ARM] Remove definition of MAX_DMA_CHANNELS to zeroRussell King
Since we now only build arch/arm/kernel/dma.c on machine types which set ISA_DMA_API, we don't need to define MAX_DMA_CHANNELS to 0 to indicate this - this definition becomes superfluous. Remove it. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2006-01-03[ARM] Cleanup ARM includesRussell King
arch/arm/kernel/entry-armv.S has contained a comment suggesting that asm/hardware.h and asm/arch/irqs.h should be moved into the asm/arch/entry-macro.S include. So move the includes to these two files as required. Add missing includes (asm/hardware.h, asm/io.h) to asm/arch/system.h includes which use those facilities, and remove asm/io.h from kernel/process.c. Remove other unnecessary includes from arch/arm/kernel, arch/arm/mm and arch/arm/mach-footbridge. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2005-11-16[ARM] Include asm/hardware.h instead of asm/arch/hardware.hRussell King
Rationalise hardware.h include. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2005-10-29[ARM] 3060/1: allow constants found in asm/memory.h to be used in asm codeNicolas Pitre
Patch from Nicolas Pitre This patch allows for assorted type of cleanups by letting assembly code use the same set of defines for constant values and avoid duplicated definitions that might not always be in sync, or that might simply be confusing due to the different names for the same thing. Signed-off-by: Nicolas Pitre <nico@cam.org> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2005-10-28[ARM] 1/4: Move include of asm/hardware.h to asm-arm/arch-*/io.hRussell King
Including asm/hardware.h into asm/io.h can cause #define clashes between platform specific definitions and driver local definitions. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2005-05-03[PATCH] ARM: cleanup vmalloc start/offset macrosRussell King
VMALLOC_START and VMALLOC_OFFSET are common between all ARM machine classes. Move them into include/asm-arm/pgtable.h, but allow a machine class to override them if required. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk@arm.linux.org.uk>
2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
