Netfilter connection tracking requires all IPv4 packets to be defragmented. Both the socket match and the TPROXY target depend on this functionality, so this patch separates the Netfilter IPv4 defrag hooks into a separate module. 2008-06-09netfilter: ip_tables: add iptables security table for mandatory access ↵James Morris
control rules The following patch implements a new "security" table for iptables, so that MAC (SELinux etc.) networking rules can be managed separately to standard DAC rules. This is to help with distro integration of the new secmark-based network controls, per various previous discussions. The need for a separate table arises from the fact that existing tools and usage of iptables will likely clash with centralized MAC policy management. The SECMARK and CONNSECMARK targets will still be valid in the mangle table to prevent breakage of existing users. Most of the netfilter modules are not considered experimental anymore, the only ones I want to keep marked as EXPERIMENTAL are: - TCPOPTSTRIP target, which is brand new. - SANE helper, which is quite new. - CLUSTERIP target, which I believe hasn't had much testing despite being in the kernel for quite a long time. - SCTP match and conntrack protocol, which are a mess and need to be reviewed and cleaned up before I would trust them. Add a secmark field to IP and NF conntracks, so that security markings on packets can be copied to their associated connections, and also copied back to packets as required. This is similar to the network mark field currently used with conntrack, although it is intended for enforcement of security policy rather than network policy. When a port number within a packet is replaced by a differently sized number only the packet is resized, but not the copy of the data. Following port numbers are rewritten based on their offsets within the copy, leading to packet corruption. Convert the amanda helper to the textsearch infrastructure to avoid the copy entirely.
